Dr. Ashley McCurry is a family medicine physician with a passion to serve the vulnerable and underserved. 

After receiving a Bachelor’s Degree from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, Dr. McCurry attended medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. She graduated with her medical degree in 2010 and then moved on to complete a family medicine residency program at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. 

Dr. McCurry’s passion to serve led her to a remote hospital in Kenya where she and her family served for 10 years. She was blessed with the opportunity to use her knowledge and skills of full-scope family medicine to help alleviate suffering in that small corner of the world. She has always had a special interest in women and children. Her greatest joy in her work comes from walking mothers through the exciting and trying times of pregnancy, helping them to bring their babies into the world, and then caring for those babies as they grow. 

Now that she has returned to the US, Dr. McCurry will be joining the team at SICHC. She will continue to provide full-scope family medicine including pregnancy care, deliveries, C sections, pediatrics and adult care. 

Dr. McCurry is married and has four children. Spending time with her family is her life’s greatest joy and although she is a homebody she also loves to travel and see the world.
