Payment Options

Have questions about your payment options? Talk to us!

Billing

If you are insured, SICHC will bill your insurance company for services and provide you with a billing statement for any fees or deductibles not covered by your insurance plan. Patients who are uninsured are asked to pay for services at the time of their visit. If you need help setting up a payment plan, please make arrangements in advance with our billing department.

Make Payments Online!

You can make payments to your account quickly and easily through PayMyDoctor secure website. You can either set up an account through PayMyDoctor; or you can pay your bill without logging in or creating an account with the easy “Pay Now” option, but you will need your billing statement.

Automatic Withdrawal

Sign up for automatic withdrawal from your checking account or credit card. It saves you time and ensures your health care payment is paid on a consistent basis.

Insurance Plans

SICHC is contracted with numerous insurance plans which includes Medicare and Medicaid. Please confirm with your insurance carrier if they are contracted with SICHC.

Co-pays are collected at check in. Our office will file your charges to your insurance carrier(s) for you. Insurance will be billed before you are asked to pay your bill in full.

Please keep the business office informed of any changes in your insurance status. Although we will assist you in processing your claim, payment of the bill is ultimately your responsibility.

Medicare / Medicaid

SICHC is contracted with MHS, MDWise, and Anthem for Medicaid and Medicare Services. If you do not have Medicaid through MHS, MDWise, or Anthem we can refer you to a health insurance navigator so you can see your favorite SICHC family providers.

OB Services

These are charged as a global fee. Patients with commercial insurance typically provide $100 at time of first workup to help off-set a large balance after delivery. This fee is applied to the global charge. We will work with you to establish a payment plan based on the information we receive from your insurance carrier on anticipated patient responsibility. It is your responsibility to contact your insurance company if you have not received an “Explanation of Benefits” (or EOB). All non-covered charges and remaining charges after your insurance has been paid are due and payable within 30 days of billing.

Health Insurance Assistant

It can be hard doing it alone! Let SICHC guide you through the health insurance options. All navigator services are free of charge and available to both patients and non-patients.

A certified Navigator will help you apply for a health insurance coverage program such the MarketplaceHealthy Indiana PlanHoosier Healthwise, and Medicaid. Obstetric (women’s health) patients who receive presumptive eligibility can get help completing the Medicaid enrollment process.

Community Health Assistance Program (CHAP)

An assistance program designed to reduce barriers to accessing health care for uninsured and underinsured patients.

CHAP is a health care discount program (healthcare, mental health, hospital services, and Dental) with eligibility based only on income and family size for our patients at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines.

To see if you may qualify, review the 2024 CHAP Sliding Fee Scale.  If you do qualify, you can download the CHAP application here, or request a CHAP application at the front desk. Bring proof of income with you to apply for CHAP discount.

This sliding fee scale is funded only by our organization so should be used responsibly as a last resort after other options.

More than Money Program

We recognize that some people experiencing financial hardship have skills that could be used to serve the community. For that reason we’ve partnered with a number of community not-for-profit agencies happy to have volunteers come to work in exchange for vouchers that can be turned in to SICHC to help pay off medical debt for services we provide.

You can download a copy of the More Than Money application here.  Please call, or inquire at the front desk to speak to the billing department for more details.

Uninsured?

We know that finding health care coverage can be a difficult and complicated process. SICHC offers in-house assistance services free of charge to assist you with this process.

This service is available to anyone. You do not have to be a patient at SICHC to have access to this service. If you are pregnant, we will help you with Presumptive Eligibility for OB Medicaid.

You will have 30 days to complete the process. Please inquire at the front desk or call any of our six offices to schedule a Navigator Appointment.
