Have questions about your payment options? Talk to us!
If you are insured, SICHC will bill your insurance company for services and provide you with a billing statement for any fees or deductibles not covered by your insurance plan. Patients who are uninsured are asked to pay for services at the time of their visit. If you need help setting up a payment plan, please make arrangements in advance with our billing department.
Our office will file your charges to your insurance carrier(s) for you. `Please keep the business office informed of any changes in your insurance status. Although we will assist you in processing your claim, payment of the bill is ultimately your responsibility. We are currently participating providers for most major insurance carriers, and OB Medicaid. We do not take MDwise.
Are charged as a global fee. Patients with commercial insurance typically provide $100 at time of first workup to help off-set a large balance after delivery. This fee is applied to the global charge. We will work with you to establish a payment plan based on the information we receive from your insurance carrier on anticipated patient responsibility. It is your responsibility to contact your insurance company if you have not received an "Explanation of Benefits" (or EOB). All non-covered charges and remaining charges after your insurance has been paid are due and payable within 30 days of billing.
Community Health Assistance Program
We have a sliding fee scale called CHAP that is funded only by our organization so should be used responsibly as a last resort after other options. Bring proof of income with you to apply for CHAP discount of between 25% and 75% off.
More than Money Program
We recognize that some people experiencing financial hardship have skills that could be used to serve the community. For that reason we’ve partnered with a number of community not-for-profit agencies happy to have volunteers come to work in exchange for vouchers that can be turned in to SICHC to help pay off medical debt for services we provide. Please speak to the billing department for more details.
We can refer you to a navigator for assistance in signing up for insurance. Call 1-877-313-7215 or IU Paoli Hospital for free enrollment assistance.
If you are pregnant, we will help you with Presumptive Eligibility for OB Medicaid. You will have 30 days to complete the process.
The Aspin Health Navigator service also offers free assistance in helping you to enroll in an insurance plan.
