Billing

If you are insured, SICHC will bill your insurance company for services and provide you with a billing statement for any fees or deductibles not covered by your insurance plan. Patients who are uninsured are asked to pay for services at the time of their visit. If you need help setting up a payment plan, please make arrangements in advance with our billing department.

Make payments online!

You can make payments to your account quickly and easily through PayMyDoctor secure website. Our staff will be happy to sign you up for this free service on your next visit. You can also access PayMyDoctor through your FollowMyHealth account, where you can view lab results, request prescription refills, make appointments, and more all in one place. FollowMyHealth is accessible from your home computer or mobile device–visit their website for a link to the free app!

Automatic Withdrawal

If you often forget to pay your bill, sign up for automatic withdrawal from your checking account or credit card. It saves you time and ensures your health care is paid for.

Insurance

SICHC is currently a participating provider for most major insurance carriers, and OB Medicaid.. Please confirm with your insurance carrier they are contracted with SICHC.

Co-pays are collected at check in. Our office will file your charges to your insurance carrier(s) for you. Insurance will be billed before you are asked to pay your bill in full.

Please keep the business office informed of any changes in your insurance status. Although we will assist you in processing your claim, payment of the bill is ultimately your responsibility.

OB Services

Are charged as a global fee. Patients with commercial insurance typically provide $100 at time of first workup to help off-set a large balance after delivery. This fee is applied to the global charge. We will work with you to establish a payment plan based on the information we receive from your insurance carrier on anticipated patient responsibility. It is your responsibility to contact your insurance company if you have not received an “Explanation of Benefits” (or EOB). All non-covered charges and remaining charges after your insurance has been paid are due and payable within 30 days of billing.

Community Health Assistance Program (CHAP)

CHAP is a health care discount program with eligibility based only on income and family size for patients at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines. This sliding fee scale is funded only by our organization so should be used responsibly as a last resort after other options. You can review our sliding fee scale here.

This program is designed to reduce barriers to accessing health care for uninsured and underinsured patients. Ask for a CHAP application at the front office or download it here. Bring proof of income with you to apply for CHAP discount.

More than Money Program

We recognize that some people experiencing financial hardship have skills that could be used to serve the community. For that reason we’ve partnered with a number of community not-for-profit agencies happy to have volunteers come to work in exchange for vouchers that can be turned in to SICHC to help pay off medical debt for services we provide. Please speak to the billing department for more details.
