Is this program really free?
Yes! A grant from the Indiana Department of Health has enabled us to provide the program for free. We are excited to help our community get healthier!
What if I can’t attend one of the Check-In events?
None of our activities are required. Going to the check-ins will help give motivation, information, and free stuff to take home.
Where can I find the current schedule?
The current schedule of Stronger Every Day classes and activities will be pinned to the top of the private facebook group page.
When are the Check-Ins?
January 17 (the kickoff), February 7, and March 7, and then a 1-mile Fun Run/Walk and final check-in on April 11.
I don’t know what I want my goal to be. How do I choose?
Come to the first check-in on January 17 and we will help you set a goal. It should be something easy to measure, such as losing 10 lbs, being able to climb a flight of stairs without stopping to rest, or walking for 30 minutes three times per week.
I’m nervous about trying new things. How can you help?
Our “Try it With Us” days are perfect for you, because we will meet you at the activity (walking groups, classes, hikes, etc) and show you exactly what to do so you are comfortable. And you can always say no if you decide it isn’t for you. Also, you can come to any of our exercise classes and check them out before participating.
I don’t live in Paoli. Can I still participate?
Yes! We will have activities in Lawrence County as well as all three cities in Orange County. Anyone within driving distance is welcome!
I heard there is a discount for a gym membership. Is this true?
Yes! Just contact Indiana Fitness Centers for a three-month membership at a discounted rate. You’ll have to show proof that you’re participating in Stronger Every Day – the best way is to show that you’re a member of the facebook group.
I don’t have any exercise clothes. What should I wear?
Just wear comfortable clothes that you can move in. It’s best if you wear pants or leggings instead of shorts for exercise classes. And if you need any special equipment, we will tell you so in advance or will provide it for you.
What if I have more questions?
You can either email stronger@sichc.org or post the question on the group page. Odds are someone else has the same question!
What if I just want to exercise at home?
You can! You can come to the check-ins for motivation, info, and free goodies. Or you can simply be a part of the facebook group. We will also share online exercise classes and workouts.
I don’t know where to exercise.
