Physician Residency Rotations

Discover your Calling, Invest in Your Future, Serve Our Community

Solidify your residency training with a 2-4 week rotation at SICHC. Here, you will not only gain robust clinical skills in our full-scope rural FQHC setting but also become an integral part of our patient-centered, family-focused approach.

What Makes SICHC Residency Rotations Special?

  • Calling: Explore why you chose medicine in the first place. Serve God and learn to love your neighbor in specific ways unique to healthcare.
  • Full Scope Care: Learn how to take care of patients in different practice settings while maintaining a work-life balance. In addition to outpatient Family Medicine, our physicians also provide adult inpatient, obstetric services (including our state of the art ultrasound machine), and newborn/pediatrics care.  Inpatient rotation augmentation opportunity is coming in July 2026.
  • Point of Care Ultrasound: Develop your ultrasound skills, both obstetric and MSK
  • Procedures: Learn/improve office-based skin procedures, suturing, and fracture management.
  • Integrated Mental Health & Substance Misuse Care: Witness and participate in our integrated approach to care, where mental health and substance misuse treatment are seamlessly woven into primary care. Learn how to address the holistic needs of patients.
  • Family-Oriented Care Immersion: Experience firsthand our commitment to treating the whole person within the context of their family and community.
  • Community Engagement: Observe and potentially participate in SICHC’s community outreach initiatives, addressing local health needs beyond the clinic walls.

  • Mileage Reimbursement: We understand the financial constraints, and time commitments of residency and offer mileage reimbursement to help offset travel costs.

Nurse Practitioner Clinical Rotations

Mental Health Student Practicum

Are you a student in a mental health, substance use treatment, social work, or counseling degree program seeking a rich and rewarding practicum experience? SICHC offers comprehensive practicum opportunities designed to immerse you in the realities of integrated behavioral healthcare within a vibrant rural community health setting.
